Ceramic Magnet (Strontium Ferrite)
First domestic ceramic magnet production line in Iran — eliminating annual multi-million dollar imports
First domestic ceramic magnet production line in Iran
Khat Group, in collaboration with a private company, achieved Iran’s first technical know-how for ceramic magnet (strontium ferrite) production after 6 months of intensive work with universities, private companies, and research centers. This achievement eliminates the country’s need for annual multi-million dollar imports of these products.
Technical challenges solved
Ceramic magnet production involves two complex domains: magnetic properties and ceramic properties. Our team overcame key challenges:
- Magnetic performance optimization — achieving optimal BHmax and Br through controlled synthesis and forming conditions
- High-density sintering — density > 4.8 g/cm³ without cracking, warping, or defects
- Dimensional precision — tight tolerances for diverse shapes (discs, blocks, rings, arcs)
Production capabilities
The fully domestic production line encompasses:
- Raw material synthesis — controlled stoichiometry and particle size
- Wet/dry pressing — with or without magnetic field orientation (isotropic/anisotropic)
- High-temperature sintering — up to 1300°C with atmosphere control
- Precision machining — grinding to final dimensions
- Magnetization — final magnetization per customer specification
- Quality control — magnetic and dimensional testing per standards
Custom parts manufactured to your drawing
Beyond standard grade production, strontium ferrite magnet parts are manufactured to the customer’s technical drawing and dimensional specifications. The production path includes:
- Forming — wet or dry pressing of powder in a die, with or without a magnetic field present
- Sintering — firing at high temperature for densification and final phase formation
- Machining — turning, grinding, or cutting to final precise dimensions
- Magnetizing — magnetization of the part in a strong magnetic field
Applications of strontium ferrite ceramic magnet parts
- Electric motors (especially DC and stepper motors)
- Generators and dynamos
- Loudspeakers and microphones
- Magnetic separators in the mining and food industries
- Holding equipment and magnetic locks
